Even the word lifeblood is too little to explain the importance of cell phones in our lives. You don’t have to be a big shot business magnate or the president to justify the use of cell phone. You just have to be a part of this mad digital world where technology defines everything. Just last week a panel of experts at WHO reported that ubiquitous hand-held phones are pretty carcinogenic to humans. They emit radio-frequency waves which when absorbed by the human body prove harmful for they can lead to brain cancer. Obviously the absorption is directly proportional to your phone usage. Other factor that have a direct nexus with absorption rates include the model of the phone used, using the hands-free device, distance and path to the nearest cell phone tower and the volume of cell phone traffic.

The authorities have also come up with a standard called Specific absorption rate (SAR) and FCC now requires cell phone makers to report the SAR level of their devices. The upper cap on acceptable levels is less than or equal to 1.6 watts per kilogram (W/kg). We know it’s impossible to give up mobile phone use entirely, but a list of top 10 lowest radiation emitting cell phones that will help you in making a good choice for your health.
1. LG Quantum (AT&T): 0.35 W/kg
