BlackBerry Playbook, the firsttablet to be certified for U.S.Government use

The BlackBerry Playbook might
have received a load of criticism
after its release given the fact
that it packs a ton of
shortcomings. The U.S.
government however thinks
differently, certifying it to be
the first tablet that will be used
officially by the government
itself. The tablet by Research In
Motion earned a FIPS 140-2
certification from the National
Institute of Standards and
Technology and is the only tablet
around to receive a certification
as such, giving it the thumbs up
for official government usage.
The PlayBook was frowned upon at
its release, given the fact that it
requires to be connected or
bridged to a BlackBerry
Smartphone in order to operate
fully, making it a dependant
device unlike most tablets raging
across the market today.
